National Service Honor
The National Service Honor was created to recognize and celebrate meaningful volunteer service in every community. This award is to acknowledge the impact of volunteers at every level.
This award can help for college admissions.
Getitfromnature Arts has been approved as an official Certifying Organization for the National Service Honor award.
The ability to bestow recognition to our students is a tremendous honor. Recognizing the great work and commitment of our volunteers can deliver a powerful message, one that encourages others to take action.
This is a verified, prestigious award program modeled after the PVSA. It recognizes students, families, and individuals for their community service hours completed over a 12-month period—or across a lifetime.
Students doesn’t have to be US citizens or Greencard holders to receive this award.
All the volunteers will receive a:
1. Personalized certificate recognizing their highest level of achievement (Lifetime achievement, Gold, Silver or Bronze);
2. Pin
3. Letter
We will work together in serving the community and earn volunteer hours. The number of hours will be within a 12 month period.
Since, Getitfromnature Arts provides art class, all the community project opportunities will be based on art. This way, students can make more art which can eventually enhance their art skills.
The targeted hours needed to be earned within a year for it to be considered. Our yearly timeframe planned is from *March to February * each year.
Documents needed from students:
* Spreadsheet containing volunteer hours logged for each activity (Format is below). Each field is mandatory.
* Photographs or proof of student’s work for each project. Volunteer work can be documented with pictures, videos, etc
* Provide as much detail as possible for the projects.
The students can apply for receiving awards each year.
If 4000+ hours are earned (it may take any number of years), the volunteers will receive the *lifetime achievement award*.
Some project ideas:
*Make hand painted cards* and distribute to
1. Nearby senior homes
2. Frontline workers
3. School kids and teachers
4. Cheer up neighbors.
5. Give to people at a coffee shop or theatres and malls.
Hours spent in making the cards and hours spent in traveling and distributing the cards can be counted.
*Create hand painted rocks*
1. Rocks can be distributed in a similar way as cards.
2. They can be kept in parks and public places for someone to grab.
*Create hand painted masks*, t-shirts, knit mittens and sweaters etc
*Make chalk art outdoors* for people to see.
Our project ‘*Love Tree*’ idea is simple to make and can be donated anywhere.
Any other art project ideas are welcome too.
All the time spent by the kids in creating something for the community can be included.
Once the goal is reached, the spreadsheet can be submitted.
Volunteer hours , photo/video proofs will be verified before sending to the organization.
Capture the following now and then, so the data is accurate.
1. Name of the project – (Example : Cards for senior home during Christmas)
2. Date – Date of donation
3. Break down any hours more than 10.
4. Include enough photo/document proof for all the art donated. This is important.
Also, please keep these in mind:
1. Students can work on their own art projects and donate throughout the year. No need to wait until projects are posted in the group.
2. Only the art projects that were already donated can be in the spreadsheet.
3. Artworks given to family members cannot be counted.

* Approval process
* Payment and submission
* Award ceremony
Getitfromnature also has all the rights to cancel a submission if there is not enough proof or incorrect data in the spreadsheet.
